not very good but explains a lot
4 March 2022
As a documentary 'behind the scenes look' it's not very good. There's no coherence and it doesn't deliver the feeling of scale. Sure, everyone interviewed complains about long hours and night shoots but they don't come off as believable, sorry. And it looks like the filmmakers were carefully chaperoned so as not to give away any trade secrets. The film does though explain a lot why season 7 and 8 were so disappointing. The creators et al were more focused on making a show of the sets and special effects that telling the story became secondary importance. Yeah, the comic book industry generates more revenue than the gdp of a lot of nations across the globe but the public is not entirely stupid. If you tell a good story, everything else will follow, and sometimes doing things within budget forces you to concentrate on the telling, not the doing part.
