The Evil Within

One of the most riveting films made, "No Man of God" stares at the depths and darkness of evil and its place in the world. In the mid - 1980s when the FBI's Behavior Science Unit did case studies on serial killers nobody wanted to take on notorious serial killer Ted Bundy. Enter rookie Bill Hagmaier who volunteers to tackle the daunting task and what unfolds is one of the most compelling dramas to appear on the silver screen. Luke Kirby and Elijah Wood give flawless performances in their respective portrayals as criminal and lawman. Kirby's crouching Bundy with his look from down under stare convey the ominous and sinister fiend as Wood's Hagmaier has the intensity to counter and go toe to toe with his subject. Their bracing back and forth touches on the reality of good and evil, crime, justice, redemption and God. The film loses its grip outside of the two mens' conversations but this is quite the ride through and through. The accomplished directing, tight and direct script and skilled cinematography highlight and pay tribute to the superiority and eminence of American film. This definitely has a place in any film awards in all categories and unless it has an equal much more better deserves to win them all. Moving and unforgettable this lingers long after the credits fade and will stay with you for life. Essential.
