I really don't understand the hate for this movie. It's not historically accurate, but pretty good anyway. It has a slight amount of cheese with some heavy breather phone moments but I like that in a thriller. I do think they did a good job with showing how he may have gotten himself worked up to kill. It's pretty trippy, hallucinations, flashbacks, visual affects. They also drove home to point that he was charming, attractive and sometimes friendly to his victims. You can see how he got away with it so many times. Also, the bits about his mother made a lot of sense.
