Warning: Spoilers
Another in an unending number of Hong Kong comedies released during the mid 1980s, this one featuring numerous ex-Shaw Brothers actors in the cast. I found it quite heavy going if I'm honest, mainly because the laughs are in short supply. A lot of this is made up of romance, thwarted and otherwise, and character drama, and you just wish it was a bit more lively, suspenseful or involving. Danny Lee, Parkman Wong, Ku Feng and of course Shing Fui-on are all fine actors in their own right and they're entertaining enough, but the script gives them little to work with and the direction is pedestrian. It's only at the very end where this all comes together.
