"Only Murders in the Building" is a very good TV series which is airing currently on HULU. Its cast is most bizarre. While it's not at all surprising that Steve Martin and Martin Short star in the film (as they have toured together doing a recent comedy act), pairing them with Selena Gomez is just weird...though it works. The three are fans of real crime podcasts and when a death (and possible murder) appears in their apartment building, they decide to do their own podcast...and crazy complications ensue.
The show works well for a variety of reasons. It's highly original, though this alone don't make it an exceptional show. The dialog and supporting characters and writing...they all combine to make for a very compelling mini-series...so compelling that I am eagerly looking forward to season two. And, the way season one ends, it's obvious that there must be a second season.
