Caveat (2020)
4/10
Decent movie, but with a lot of plot holes

Warning: Spoilers
The movie had potential, but it is squandered due to how illogically the characters behave. In real life, people would behave completely opposite, but if the characters in the movie were to do that, the movie would end in 15 minutes. Obviously this won't do, so they make the most unrealistically illogical decisions to keep the film plodding along. These instances pile up so high, that you can't suspend your sense of disbelief any more.

Which sane individual would allow himself to be chained by a shady stranger and left alone on a spooky island?

Which sensible person would leave the crossbow within reach of his opponent after turning the tables on her and chaining her?

When he discovers that the painting is haunted, won't he call the cops instead of calling the very man who put him in the predicament in the first place?

When he puts his hand in the hole to reach the phone the second time and the girl grabs it, won't he immediately wrench his hand back, instead of waiting for her to break his finger?

Why would he leave the girl on the island in the end?

There are many such things which don't make any sense in the film. It hampers your enjoyment of the movie. The atmosphere, acting and other things are great though.
