Emerald Fennell's Oscar-winning "Promising Young Woman" is the perfect movie for the MeToo era. Carey Mulligan stars as the protagonist, who lures sexual predators into unpleasant situations.
This is Fennell's directorial debut, and I'm now eager to see her future work. Fennell uses clever tricks to tell the story and identify the protagonist's mindset (much like how Hitchcock and Kubrick did).
All in all, this is a movie that everyone should see. Mind you, it DOES have intense scenes. As long as you can tolerate those, you'll like the movie (understanding of course, that it has a serious subject matter). Definitely see it.
