Mulshi Pattern (2018) : Brief Review -

A hardcore and loud mediocrity strictly for regional B grade masses. I remember watching this film in 2018, right after one week of Classic Naal. That time Marathi cinema was doing reasonably fine, with expected ups and downs and this film suddenly came as a hard-core massy film in the midst of regular dramas. So of course it caught attention because of local touch and the actual issue related to the farmers in Pune. Well, the topic was really good but the film wasn't. It hardly made an average film out of important subject which i think is certainly underwhelming. Marathi cinema was never so loud except for low budget massy flicks and this was way too loud and low grade standard film considering its budget. Nevertheless, it kept me interested for some time but then the same predictability, like i have seen in Vaastav and Shootout, and Mulshi Pattern went downstairs. I still say the subject was good but the presentation was outdated. Om Bhutkar as gangster was convincing and thank God for that whereas Upendra Limaye was terrific in his extended cameo role. The entire cast was pretty new but still looked decent, which i didn't really expected at the beginning. Music was made for tapori audience who love dancing on crazy songs during functions and ceremonies so it added a little boost to the overall gesture of the film. The screenplay was quite similar to what I have seen in 'Dagadi Chaal', the look-out was also similar to that film or can i say it was inspired from it? Pravin Tarde's cameo seemed practically convincing but not theoretically, however, i must add that the way it ended was really good despite being highly predictable. Overall, a strictly average film with outdated storyline and mediocre presentation but the relevance to 'Mulshi Issue' made that connect to B grade masses. I never really belonged to that category so you can count me out if the list is made on how many people have liked the film.
