Review of BMF

BMF (2021– )
9/10
Realistic, well-acted film
29 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This series, which begins in the 1990s decayed Detroit, is realistic, well-acted and well-written. It contains (of necessity) violence but, like the other series produced by 50 cent (Raising Kanan), relies more on character conflict and solid plotting to achieve its effect, as Demetrius and his brother Terry go for broke to dominate Detroit's thriving drug market, despite the strong protests of their hard-working, caring parents. The brothers do this is by breaking conventions as well as heads, kidnapping the child of a rival to retrieve money while defying the underworld powers-that-be. The series has not yet ended and I will stay tuned.
