I was such an enthusiastic young fan, when it's cancellation was announced I was a junior in high school (Lakewood, OH) and circulated a petition around the building urging the studio to keep Stoney alive. I waited in vain for any word of recognition. As I scrolled through the list of cast members just now I felt (somewhat) vindicated that so much talent played in this great piece of early 60's TV. So many of those actors went on to varying degrees of fame and fortune. Don't remember what replaced the show but whatever it was the fact I cannot recall tells us everything we need to know about how wrong ratings very often were, and no doubt remain.
