Could you stop the over-the-top fake smiles?
9 October 2021
Although Tyrone Power might be the only person who could play this pianist role, but he was too old for this cast, not even with his non-stop, over-the-top fake and exaggerated smiles from the very beginning to the end. I just felt so tired of watching him smiled ear to ear all the time, yet at the same time, his tired wrinkles eyes told the opposite. Kim Novak, what a goddess like exquisite actress.

When the movie started, people singing in the park, music everywhere. It's just looked like a musical movie, so fake and unrealistic to paint a grand picture of New York. The only thing that really held my interest was the wonderful performance of Power's piano play. The screenplay was not as good as it should be either. A dramatized biopic of Eddy Duchin and the awkward unlikely romance. Just listen to the music, don't take it too seriously otherwise.
