WrestleMania 31 Thoughts

WrestleMania 31 was the 31st annual WrestleMania produced by the WWE. It took place on March 29, 2015 at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Attendence was disputed as 76,976. 7 matches took place on the show (excluding the kickoffs). We saw Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with a big moment that had one of the best endings in WrestleMania history. Also included on this card was Triple H vs. Sting. Sting after 2 decades finally made his debut for the WWE a shocking moment at the time that was debated to never happen. Sting prior to contract was dubbed and the greatest wrestler to never sign with the WWE. Last this PPV was criticized for it's poor buildup and from a later date, it's booking decisions. However the event it's self was mostly positive from fans & critics.

The Good - Well every match was a least watchable and nothing looked like a filler or irrelevant placement on the card. The main event was awesome due to its atmosphere from the crowd actually enjoying Lesnar beating the crap out of Roman (who at the time was not accepted by the fans) and Seth Rollins cashing in the briefcase to win the title which was Seth Rollins biggest moment of his career. I put Rollins cash in and making it a Triple Threat as 1 match with the Lesnar vs. Reigns if makes sense. As a whole it gave it a higher boost. Triple H vs. Sting also was good and it did put some good vibes seeing the N. W. O and DX legends Interfere. The rest of the card was good and the RKO from Orton to Rollins was one of the best RKOs ever.

The Meh - Worst Match was actually I would say decent. That would be the Women's Tag Team Match. Towards this time, Women's wrestling would get more interesting in the WWE. I also felt like this show lacked something. Like all the matches were good up until the main event there wasn't an excellent match. And the main event got a boost as I said earlier due to a moment.

The Bad - A terrible choice of winner for Triple H vs Sting. It was once more Vince's ego of WWE destroying WCW getting out. The way Vince and HHH had video promo of HHH being the counterpart of Sting as the big guy for the WWE was laughable. No way people saw Triple H vs. Sting for a dream match over dozens. Also JBL at commentary was atrocious.

Overall - It was good WrestleMania. A major flaw was there being no Match Of The Year candidate on the card nor instant classic but it was an enjoyable show despite the poor buildup to it at the time. I see this PPV get regarded as one of the best WMs of all time. Honestly, I disagree but it's good.
