Night Train (I) (2009)

Too scary for me
3 October 2021
I'm really not a fan of the horror or supernatural genre. I had no idea that Night Train would fall into those categories, so I'll admit I didn't actually watch all of it. Once it became too scary, I used the fast-forward button.

The premise sounded moderately creepy, so I thought I could handle it: a passenger is found dead on a night train with few attendants, and they decide to dispose of the body without alerting the authorities. Danny Glover plays the train conductor, Steve Zahn is a traveling salesman, and Leelee Sobieski is a deranged medical student. Steve starts off being the greedy one, once he sees a valuable box in the dead man's possession. Danny wants nothing to do with the illegal activity, but when Leelee shows off her medical knowledge of how they can actually get away with it, he's persuaded. Big mistake! She turns out to be a psychopath who "improvises" on their original plan by hacking the body to pieces with a hatchet.

So, if this sounds like your cup of tea, you'll probably like it. It's just too scary for me, but I know there are plenty of people who love horror movies. To each his own, and Happy Halloween - or in the setting of this movie, Merry Christmas!

Kiddy Warning: Obviously, you have control over your own children. However, due to gore and frightening content, I wouldn't let my kids watch it.
