Very rare to find this gem of a film nowadays, especially with all the modern 'small team behind enemy lines' kinda crap that gets churned out monthly.
Great character development, solid actors and based loosely on a true story which entails a good watch. I personally was enthralled from start to finish, having toured the Somme 3 times in years past, this film managed to accurately depict what I personally presume represents a WW1 battlefield.
There are a few minor points such as the lads always being clean, but everything else from the insignia to the interaction between officers and soldiers (not many officers were aloof when they spent a tour in the trenches with their 'chaps' eating the bully beef and sharing the lice and rats!) were spot on.
All in all a solid, decent watch and totally worth a revisit in a few months... perhaps with the wife :-P.
