Making the Cut (2020– )

Time for something ' fresh '
15 August 2021
I don't get why , at this point in project runway history , we aren't seeing competition for only 'plus' size women ( we are all plus comparatively) or just men , or only androgyny idk just why? Some designers clearly had this going forward them here but it was glimpses.

At this point it's very difficult to see much that's new or mind- bending, since everything comes from someplace we have been and seen in the past 100 years . There are moments and yes it's fresh to a contemporary generation but people aren't stupid can't sell me a flapper style dress and tell me it's new . Everything should be sustainable and reusable , everything a buy and a give back imo . I am rating this before the end because I can't let my potential disappointment effect my review. The competition itself is still great and the designers this season are very talented. I also appreciate some of the toned down personality (like judges and guest judges -ditzy doesn't work, mean doesn't either ... so glad they dropped all that ) the judges are great this season and Tim and Heidi going strong.

The music is off putting this season and there is less flair ( easily accommodated in the editing room especially due to covid) the whole vibe just feels a bit thrown together.
