After reading the bad reviews I thought I was going to be in for some nonsensical drama filled to the brim with modern day feminism but that is very far from the truth.
Sure there are strong female leads in this show even a couple of scenes of females in battle but regardless of whether this was historically accurate or not it does not detract from this show being good and it certainly does not throw it in your face like some other shows have in the past, I personally hate any modern day politics infecting TV or movies but in all honesty I didn't notice that at all here.
Overall this was a thrilling medieval drama filled with action and intrigue, great battle scenes, plenty of scheming and plotting, very well acted by all involved, the scenery was breath taking and the show was very well shot, honestly I have a hard time of finding anything bad to say.
Sure this might not be an entirely historically accurate show but if you love this period in time and aren't looking for a documentary then you have come to the right place, watch this now you won't be disappointed.
