Warning: Spoilers
The tag line for the movie here on IMDb states that it's 'The true story of how and when Billy The Kid became an outlaw'. Don't believe it for a minute. It's as if scattered facts about the historical Billy the Kid were written down on pieces of paper, placed in a hat, and flung in the air with each snippet randomly inserted into the story as they fell to Earth without regard to chronology or accuracy. The funniest thing was the mention of the Smith-Warren gang at the beginning of the movie, with the name 'Warren' later changing to 'Weston' and used interchangeably thereafter in the story. The only positive thing I can say about this picture is that the landscape photography is excellent, and I'll throw in an honorable mention for the song lyrics, which if you listen closely, they are kind of cool. But the script, acting, dialog and even the sets beg for a modicum of credibility that is sorely lacking. Interestingly, as I come to this movie here on IMDb, every single one of the seven reviewers to comment on it give it a '1' rating. The thing is, I've seen two other Westerns by director Christopher Forbes titled "American Gunslingers" and "Wyatt Earp Shoots First", and hard as it is to believe, this one is twice as good as those two. Which is why I give it a '2'.
