Warning: Spoilers
Visually & from a setting, costume etc beautiful to look at - the golden age at the end of the 19th century. All this is providing the frame (and just a frame?) for a series of odd and gruesome happenings. You'll find seances and occultism as well as a serial killer and symbolism. It's not new in any sort or way but it worked to keep me engaged. This said it's not particularly thrilling or tense. Even the show down is aesthetically fine but I'm missing the oomph - even when a supernatural aspects kicks in.
