I never managed to get off the runway...

Pull up! Collision alert! Pull up! Pull up!

Granted, I had a feeling that this was going to be another one of those lousy mockbusters from The Asylum. I assumed as much from the mere title of the movie and its cover. And true enough to my assumptions, as I saw The Asylum's logo on the intro screen, then of course it was as expected.

Still, I opted to give the movie a chance, despite of it having Eric Roberts on the cast list. Why? Well, because once in a blue moon, then The Asylum actually manages to produce something that is entertaining and worth the time and effort.

"Top Gunner" wasn't one such instance. Nay. "Top Gunner" was atrociously bad and pointless. It was a massive struggle to just sit through the ordeal. Did writer Geoff Meed manage to produce anything even remotely worthwhile watching? No. Did director Daniel Lusko manage to turn the lack of a proper storyline and script into a watchable movie? No.

The acting in the movie was actually not all that bad, just a shame that the actors and actresses had literally nothing to work with in terms of a proper script, storyline or characters.

If you enjoy flight movies and pilot dramas, then do yourself a favor and stay clear of this one. "Top Gunner" was by no means an interesting, entertaining, watchable, enjoyable or wholehearted movie. Sure, there are far worse movies out there, but the 2020 movie "Top Gunner" is up there.

My rating of "Top Gunner" lands on a two out of ten stars.
