This film takes the "bucket list" concept and turns it on its head. Straight-arrow Harvey finds out he has less than a month to live and falls in with shyster Luke who motivates him to start challenging every rule or law that's "meant to be broken." Thus begins an adventurous roadtrip to meet up with his almost-ex-wife eight states away. Good girl Shuri, an accidental kidnapping "victim," joins the duo and kicks the risk factors up a notch. The plot is fun AND funny, poignant with a subtle, but unmistakable, comment on the modern day American experience.
This film is all the more amazing in that it was made independently by alumni of the 48 Hour Film Project who recruited other project participants along the filming route. Real people telling real stories and casting other real people who look just like you and me... and it's beautiful!
