reverse rom-com
23 February 2021
Princess Veronica (Hedy Lamarr) lives in a big castle and is terribly lonely. Jimmy Dobson (Robert Walker) is a bellboy at a luxury hotel in New York City. His friend Albert Weever keeps getting into trouble with a bad crowd. He's dedicated to paralyzed girlfriend Leslie Odell (June Allyson) and then Princess Veronica comes into his life.

There is only one way to go with Jimmy and the princess. They need to be platonic friends. The movie could stretch out his misunderstanding of her as a maid. He could take her around and help her acclimatized to the city. Leslie could also misunderstand his relationship with the princess as long as it is truly a misunderstanding. He needs to be her Cupid trying to set her up with various people. If only Albert is not such a thug, he would be perfect match in story terms for her. Whenever Jimmy is head over heels for the princess, I kept thinking about Leslie. When Leslie cries, I cry. It's a horrible look and horrible as a rom-com. This is a reverse rom-com.
