We are introduced to three families. One is an older white man with a Columbian wife and her son from her first husband. Secondly is a gay couple with an adopted Vietnamese baby girl. Thirdly is a white family with three kids.
The third family's eldest daughter wears a miniskirt and her mother tells her she doesn't need to prove she is a girl. The mother had a wild childhood herself and she said as long as Hayley doesn't wake up on the beach half-naked she has done their job. The younger daughter scares her mom wondering what would happen if Hayley got pregnant.
