This is a drama first, set in a sci-fi scene. Not an action sci-fi!! That's what a lot of people screaming "BAD MOVIE" or "BORING" fail to keep in mind.
So keeping that in mind. This was a good movie. So if you're looking for something different this is definitely worth a watch.
The Midnight Sky keeps you hooked by raising a lot of questions. It reveals little of what is actually happening and let's you wonder. The cast's performance therefore feels more natural and doesn't force any unnecessary "gibberish". I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the actors. All of them sold it very well. Sometimes managing to create a distinctive personage in just a few scenes.
The only downside is the action. Mostly the one that happens on the ground. The one that happens in space is actually pretty ok.
And it's a winner for the vfx department!
