This film has really stood the test of time. Its themes resonate in present day America with the opioid addiction and mass surveillance. The animation style truly fits the overall feeling of distorted thinking as everything is ill-defined and constantly shifting. By showing the perspective of the addicts, it shows the effects of the drugs on the brain. By showing the perspective of the police, it shows the effects of the drugs on society and the desperate means they must resort to. Overall, a very topical film.
