A once in a lifetime movie !!

Gangs of Wasseypur is undoubtably & unarguably one of the best gangster films to roll out from India. This 2 part feature with a total runtime of a whopping 321 minutes is an absolute flawless masterpiece directed by Anurag Kashyap. Gangs of Wasseypur presents almost everything happening in the badlands of Bihar, starting from the crudest forms of social evils, conflicts, vengeance ridden acts, gang wars, class differences, illegal arms, drug dealing, craze for Bollywood, sexual drives, betrayal, love, lust, hatred, friendship, hierarchy, camaraderie, competitiveness, corruption, adulteration, dacoity, savagery and rampant hooliganism blended together with utmost grace.

Anurag Kashyap's attempt to bring it all in front of the audience is really a nothing less than great attempt, especially for the city folks. The ensemble cast of Bajpayee, Siddiqui, Chadha, Dhulia, Khan, Mishra, Ahlawat, Rao, Tripathi, Singh and (perhaps the youngest of them...)Kumar acted out their roles with utter realism and conviction by engulfing themselves in hardcore method acting. Manoj Bajpayee has indeed delivered an absolutely outstanding performance and is easily the heart beat of the entire movie. All the supporting actors' performances were enthralling, eccentric, explosive and yet loveable and funny.

A well crafted screenplay and Rajeev Ravi's cinematography was just outstanding in matching to the various moods & tones set by Anurag Kashyap. Ably supported by the authentic songs composed by Sneha Kanwalkar and GV Prakash Kumar's Background score which gives a certain eeriness to the movie throughout. Shrikant Desai-Zubi Johal-Rajiv Sunna trio's makeup & Subodh Srivastava's costume design adds to the awe factor to Gangs of Wasseypur, depicting the usual tendencies of villagers to dress up and maintain their hair styles imitating celebrities is highly accurate, as was the portrayal of hostile, vengeance ridden hate of each and every character, Where all the dirt and mug of the society seems to ensemble in the form of abstract commodities. The film feeds even the most minute of details....

Overall, No words can describe what a gem of a movie this is. You can feel that each and every scene actually happens in front of your eyes. You live through the scenes. You will live and die with the characters. Even Anurag Kashyap himself will not be able to make another film as good as this one. In fact he acknowledges the fact. A must watch for everyone.
