Scare Package is a comedy horror anthology of 7 loosely connected stories of varying quality that have a lot of nods to horror tropes and cliches and frequently poke fun at them and the movie itself.

Unlike most horror anthologies this has a mostly coherent plot, a lot of humor and some likeable characters. There are a few stories that could have been left out and there wouldn't have been much of a difference though. There isn't much in terms of character development either but that's to be expected given the length of the segments. Some of the acting is decent and some is barely passable but overall this was entertaining especially if you are a fan of cheesy 80s horror comedies with blood and guts flying every which way. There are also some subtle and not so subtle nods to old horror movies like the video store managers car roof being painted the same green and red colour as Freddy Krueger's sweater. Or a cafe in a secret laboratory being named The Cenobite Cafe.

There are werewolves, devil worshipers, a serial killer, a killer in the woods and a helpful monster who seems to be turning into some sort of goo. There is also a story about a supporting actor named Michale Myers (he prefers Mike) who acts only on bit roles in horror movies which he dislikes and he would like to have his acting roles expanded with somewhat funny and definitely bloody results.

In the end the stories have a loose connection but things get way over the top especially in the last few stories. The budget was obviously low but the cast and crew seem to do as much as humanly possible with what they have and it shows in the final product. This seems to have been a passion project for the filmmakers and deserves a 5.5-6 out of 10. It could have been better but is definitely funny especially if watched with a group of friends.
