Chintu Ka Birthday review :

After the insufferable Choked and Ghoomketu's of the world, we finally get an OTT release worth a watch. Yup, Chintu Ka Birthday is one of the better films released yesterday on Zee5. A simplistic heart-warming drama with right dose of emotions and comic moments..

Chintu (Vedant Chibber) is a six year old Indian stuck with his family in the turbulent Iraq of 2004 when America invaded that country and dethroned Saddam Hussein. While most Indians have been safely evacuated home, illegal immigrants like Chintu's dad (Vinay Pathak) are still stuck there.

The film narrates the event of Chintu's birthday and how his family tries to make it a happy one for him in that tumultuous situation with whatever limited resources available. It's an arduous task...specially when they have two American soldiers as unwanted guests after a bomb strike in their area!!

Splendid performances from the entire cast, particularly Vinay Pathak and Tillotama Shome and a tight screenplay which keeps you hooked throughout the one hour twenty three minutes of run time count amongst the film's positive.

Even the peripheral characters like the kind hearted local landlord (Khalid Massou) and Chintu's school friend Wahid (Mehroos Mir) are well written and completely believable.

Gate crash in to Chintu Ka Birthday this weekend. You wont regret it!
