Bad Movie Best Enjoyed with Friends
31 May 2020
This film pretty much gets everything wrong. As a film that is trying to make its share from the popularity of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast and Fierce shows a complete lack of understanding of what makes Fast and Furious so popular and successful.

The writing is shocking. At times it even dips into the same territory as The Room but in a way that is embarrassing than endearing.

The acting isn't very good either, it gives the impression that all the actors are amateurs and that this is their first time acting, and whoever directed the film chose their first takes of every scene they did.

What makes Fast and Furious so exciting to watch is that the films, during the races, are very visually stylized. In Fast and Fierce, we have shaky cam, fast editing that sometimes breaks continuity, and shots of actors who don't look like they know what they are supposed to be reacting to.

I draw comparisons to Fast and the Furious, not only because of its alternative title Fast and Fierce, but also because they even use the line "I live life a quarter mile at a time" so it's begging for the comparison. The film ends with a weird interjection that is out of place and in a situation that does not really give much resolution to anything.

The romance is forced and so cliche that the film would have been better off without it.

I didn't have high expectations for this film and, indeed, it lived up to those quite low expectations. This is easily the kind of film you can enjoy with friends if you all enjoy watching cheaply made, imitations of big budget Hollywood films. There is entertainment value with this, but it's better with friends. Not so bad it's good, but it's campy, hammy, and corny enough for a bad movie night.
