Next Door (I) (2020)

Whatever this crew is on, I'll have some

This film is crazy. I have watched a lot of anthology films in my time and they tend to either be great or terrible. Having watched the behind the scenes of this film I know they ran into issues when working. Actors didn't show up. Rewrites were needed on the day. A lead actress had to pull out due to pregnancy and another actress took the role over. Watching all that happened, the film shouldn't have worked and should have fallen apart but testimony to Matt Shaw's writing, he managed to find work arounds to complete the film and the end result is entirely crazy. I especially love how everything more or less ties together by the end of it with characters popping up in each other's stories. It is also worth sticking around to watch through the credits. There is a message stating that the team decided to make some 60 second shorts. These shorts are not part of the actual film but they are fun although the last one is down right disgusting and made me want to punch the television. I'd like to hang out on their next set because I think it is most likely just a huge laugh.
