Mosul (II) (2019)
Mosul (2019) - 6.4
14 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Act 1 - 6.3

Act 2 - 6.2

Act 3 - 6.8

Decent place to learn about what was going on in the region at this time

Voiceover is really bad and the film is stretched too thin

If they focused on one aspect more it could have been more powerful

Actual war scenes were scary and anxiety fueled

Message that everyone is looking for power in some way or another no matter where in the world you are and the normal people have to suffer for their ignorance

ISIS takes the city of Mosul in Iraq

Journalist in Iraq has been interviewing ISIS defectors

Film opens with some terrible and messed up material to let the audience know what is happening in this region

Iraq military left the city and gave it up to ISIS and they took all the military weapons there

Militias working together to take back the city from ISIS

Ali, the guy doing voiceover is super boring and corny with his perspectives, doesn't work

Daesh is another term to redder to the ISIS forces

Gives insight into the leaders in the area and what they are fighting for

Interviews are boring as a lot of the film is just stagnant with these moments

Actual footage of the militia fighting is very impressive and exciting

Crazy seeing the drones drop grenades

Actual war parts of the film are very good

Soldiers don't care about the politicians and just want to free their people

Citizens and kids in the town just want to live their lives

Film jumps all over the place and stretches itself thin by trying to get the whole picture of what is happening in this area

Everybody is looking for power no matter where and when in the world the story is the same, false promises to get not power like always

Iraq eventually declares victory over Daesh after 10 months of fighting I've the city and it is destroyed

Citizens left to clean up their destroyed city and lives
