A Delightful Surprise
14 December 2019
Often times, I don't really go out of my way for animated shorts. They generally come off forced and rushed to accommodate for such little time. Mickey's Christmas Carol is a prime example, although it remains a staple to this day that bridges back to my childhood Christmases and of the memories made. I went into Olaf's Frozen Adventure with a low expectation and came out of it, pleasantly surprised! It had everything I expected and more. I then was curious to how others felt about it and seeked out other inputs. I'm glad there are others who are in agreement as opposed to slamming such a heartwarming short film for being attached to Coco. This short film may be a result of Disney commercializing Frozen and Christmas, but (aside from Star Wars), Disney won't put out a film unless it has heart at it's core. Olaf's Frozen Adventure made me laugh, cheer and cry. Something that the Frozen franchise has managed to pull off, at least with me. It's a good reminder as to what Christmas should and needs to be about. My only complaint is that this short film left me wanting more adventures with Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, especially the latter two. Olaf and Sven make for a good team, they had me rolling in laughter!!
