I had not read the book the movie is based on in advance. And I'm happy for it. What I liked most about this drama was the unpredictability of the characters. As the other user reviews have pointed out, this is about friendship, race, social class and interpersonal relationships. All of this is portrayed both believable and interesting. But the best part is still all the secrets these people have, dark secrets they carry and that they partially live out. The film is divided, around the main characters, but everything is merged together in a way that the whole is taken care of. Definitely worth a couple of hours in front of the TV.
