Don't usually do these reviews, but as I said before sometimes, I just got to get it off my chest.

First order of business the season finale, it was ok it's not one of my favorite season finales in my book, but at least it wraps things up and sort of sets up for next season, but due to most of what has occurred it really kind of hampers this finale. There are some good moments like seeing how everyone caught on to Thane/Reverse Flash's plan in the end and pretty much applying the breaks on it. There was also a good/decent battle with "The Flash", "Excess", and "Reverse Flash". Of course, in the end "Reverse Flash" is let go of again due to not messing with the timeline (that is if it's still remotely intact).

But of course, after this battle it was not without a cost as we see Nora starts to disappear, or at least the version we see. It was somewhat sad seeing just some of the emotion both Barry and Iris were going though, even some of that final message both see. Though I'll admit I honestly didn't feel too bad Nora (version 1) was coming out of the picture because to me she messed with time too much and practically toyed with fate and now she's paying the price. Though I'm sure that we'll see Nora again as there now living in a new timeline (I think) but it will a different version which would make her Nora 2 and hopefully a better version.

Alright now that's out of way, here comes the toxic waste dump for the season. What the hell did I just watch, really what did I watch, the show is called "The Flash" right? This season was just way off track, the sad thing about this season was it could have been good, the plotline isn't bad as it's one that's been done throughout the years in several shows like Season 2 of "Sailor Moon Classic" or in its other title "Sailor Moon R". But unfortunately for this season of "The Flash" the execution was poor as it just constantly took too many wrong turns on the track it was running, most that easily could have been avoided even by a novice.

Nora Allen/Excess was just as John McClane puts it "a fly in the ointment, a pain in the ass". She really sucks, the sad thing about her and the storyline was it could have been good but she's not, she just comes of really really stupid but worst of all kind of a b.... most of the time for no good reason. I really hate the fact that she collaborates with "Reverse Flash" on training her in her powers and to change the timeline, I remember thinking "Hello, this guy killed your Grandmother, he's a fraking psychopath you can't trust him." This really hurt the character for me and made her less sympathetic, seriously she couldn't of contacted any other characters from "The Flash" or just the DC verse in general to train her like oh I know "Supergirl" or better yet "Superman" which would have been awesome and makes more sense as both have super speed.

There was way too much focus on her, she was obviously made out to be the main protagonist of the season, though may 'be more of an antagonist as a lot of what she's done was damning, like changing the timeline too much which may have not just altered things in ways we can't imagine but also might have cost lots of lives. This show is called "The Flash" not "Excess" or "Excess and the Flash", this season was an excess no doubt excessively bad.

I really don't like what some of the writing was doing with Iris, it really felt like character assassination much like part of what they did with Ang in Season 2 of "Legend of Korra" which is one of the reason that season was not my favorite. It's almost as if most people on the staff hate the character and we're writing her bad on purpose. I get the flak toward a character; we all have a character or two that's not on our favorites list to each their own. But you should never let that throw your objectivity on a series, in which this season clearly lost. It would of Iris along with Ralph (whom was hardly in the season) have a subplot, it would have been interesting if there was an actual mini arc on both of them traveling to the future as both realize that something in the present time line is amiss and is somehow connected with Nora. I don't know at least something as both characters really had not much to do, it's the same with everyone else.

There were way too many plot holes but worst of all also plenty of opportunities lost. From the simple fact that most of the main characters including supporting characters we know really have not much to do or aren't even in the show that much.

Or even the mere fact that red flags should have been raised when Team Flash was around Nora, as all of them seemed to of blindly given their trust to someone they hardly know, much like Scott and his pack giving their trust to Theo in "Teen Wolf" Season 5 another terrible season.

Despite Sherlock Wells (one of my favorite versions of Wells and only good things about the season) the one that was doing the internal affairs work on Nora, there were several times and chances when any of the other characters could have contributed as well. From that one episode when both Barry and Iris go into Nora's head and saw "Reverse Flash" in her mind or even Cecilia with her psychic ability could of picked up something, let alone Ralph being the detective he is should of also smelled something fishy, you get where I'm going with this

My last gripe is Cisco/Vibe whom is my favorite character in "The Flash" I really didn't like the character drama subplot because it was totally out of character on him making a metapower cure and wanting to cure himself of his powers. This was just a big insult to both the character and fans; I know that their trying to write the character off because the actor is leaving but this was just lazy writing at it's worst. There are better ways to do it, let alone isn't hard and respectful of the character. It could have been seeing Cisco/Vibe going into business for himself, heck Ralph is a Private Detective and has powers so if he can do it, why couldn't Cisco?

Hopefully, next season they can get back on track. Overall the season finale was ok, it's not going to make my favorites list of season finales in my book. As for the Season 5 of "The Flash" I don't recommend, this is a season that places dead last.

Season Finale Rating: 2 and a half stars Season 5 rating: 1 star
