A brave effort, but ends up lacking punch
16 April 2019
Alan Partridge is a British institution of the late nineties, so bringing it into current times required some severe modernisation. Unfortunately, this experiment seems to have been a mistake - some jokes fail to hit home as they would have before, and the magic that made Alan Partridge excellent before doesn't seem to have translated.

Not all of this can be blamed on the scripting or the other actors, but trying to update the show does seem to have suffered from some shortcomings; maybe Partridge should be consigned to radio from now on.
