Review of Still

Still (VIII) (2018)
8/10
This hidden gem turned out to be quite a tale

8/10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 When this film began there was something about it that gave me the feeling that it just might be worth the watch. Maybe it was the beautiful natural aperture shots of lydia Wilson at the beginning in the forest or how psychotic Mark Blood storms onto screen. But "Still" which also features Madeline Brewer is a great tale that develops beautifully catching you off guard with multiple plot twists the minute you think you have it all figured out. The story is about a married couple who lives in a rustic cabin off the beaten path. When visitors who are lost show up the wife is more than happy to show warm hospitality, As for the husband not so much fearing the secret they possess will be uncovered by the new arrivals. The acting and cinematography is superb the pace of the film runs smoothly revealing different aspects of the characters at the right time with backstories that compliment the mystery. The storyline is very believable even though it's a fictional tale. Although other films have been created that involve this subject matter "Still" does it in a unique way so it feels fresh not stale. A very heartwarming message at the end you definitely come away understanding why earlier events took place. All in all definitely worth a watch the 5.6 rating does not do this film justice I give it an 8 you'll enjoy this movie if you check it out trust me.
