I saw Super Troopers 2 at the theater last night. I've honestly been looking forward to this movie for a very long time. Super Troopers may be a dumb movie, but I love it.
Overall Super Troopers 2 did not disappoint if you are a fan. Everything that part one had is still here. All the cast returns for more glorious stupid humor shenanigans. Acting wise I love all these guys together. They have so much genuine chemistry together they just seem like they're having fun at every scene.
I found myself laughing constantly just how dumb everything was, but in a good way. This is definitely the kind of movie you check your mind at the door.
Story-wise the movie was fairly flimsy, but the first Super Troopers wasn't known for its elaborate plot line either. Pretty much any advancement of story we're just excuses for a jokes set up.
Part 2 did rest pretty heavily on the jokes from part one though. The movie was a continuation of the same sex, drugs, and juvenile humor found in the first. Normally I would hate this kind of movie, but the first Super Troopers has a special place in my heart.
This is by no means a smart comedy or an exceptionally well-made movie, but I had fun watching it. Any fan of the original should definitely go ahead and see it, but if you've never seen the first you can probably go ahead and skip this. A 6.75 out of 10.
