Review of Sense8

Sense8 (2015–2018)
2/10
Slow and unengaging
26 April 2018
Eight people live across the world, have never met and don't even know of one another's existence. Yet they start to sense each other, even becoming each other at times, and channel their individual skills.

Dull. Very slow start: after one episode the plot had not developed at all and there was no indication of any real focus. The Daryl Hannah scenes were meant to add intrigue but all they did for me was add confusion. From reviews I knew to give the series some time but four episodes in and things are still quite unfocused.

Yes, the first few episodes are about setting the background and introducing the characters, but therein lies the problem. With interesting characters you can get away with little plot development. However, from the start I did not care about any of the characters and this situation did not improve with time (okay, maybe I did care about the Korean woman a bit, but that was it). They're either bland, irritating and/or one-dimensional. Nothing about them grabbed my interest.

I lasted four episodes before giving up. Time's too valuable to waste it on boring TV series. Plus, there's plenty of other TV shows vying for my attention (thanks, Netflix!).
