The Defenders (2017)

Ignore the Fanboy reviews and Enjoy this!

OK, first of all, I'm not a fanboy. I don't expect any comic film or series to slavishly ape it's source material. This take on the Defenders is new, and uses the previous four heroes to receive Netflix series. Of the four characters originals shows; Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist - I liked Iron Fist the least. The main actor is kind of bad and his attempts a Kung Fu are laughable. In the Defenders however, since he doesn't have to carry the show, he's slightly better since the other actors, especially Charlie Cox and Kristen Ritter are so much better. Basically a terrible threat brings the four together with Matt Murdock and Luke Cage being reluctant. Misty Knight and Colleen Wing have some good screen time and Misty is a great character. What makes this really work well is the shortness of the season - 8 episodes. There's no time for BSing about, just getting to the point, which is something that hurt both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The villains are the Hand (from Daredevils second season) but are a bit more memorable and evil here. Overall I binged right through this - the episodes go quickly - and had a good time doing it. So again, ignore the Fanboy comments which full of angst and annoyance over very little, and enjoy the Defenders.
