Do NOT be deceived by the title. This is a CRIME series.

Warning: Spoilers
Overall "When a Snail Falls in Love" is an entertaining show, but this series is only worth watching if you already like intense CRIME dramas. Do not go in thinking it will be 50% crime and 50% romance. It is 90% crime and 10% romance; maybe even less romance than that. The romance wraps the plot in a tidy package, but inside the package is lies, murder, drugs, and human trafficking.

The plot could have changed the female lead to a younger male and the story could have been 99% the same. And been about 10 minutes shorter.

The fight scenes are OK, nothing amazing. The fake blood is shoddy in some scenes; I've had enough nose bleeds to know what hands covered in blood looks like.

There is very little character backstory or growth. The male lead is awesome at everything he does and the female lead is the one who has to do all the improving (physically). The villains are intensely flat.

The cinematography is probably the best thing about this series; some shots are beautifully done.

I know it sounds like mostly negative things, but I don't want to give the plot away by saying the things I enjoyed. Just know that I binge watched while sick even though I could have watched many other things instead.
