Brothers & Sisters: Lights Out (2010)
Season 4, Episode 23
Not one of the best episodes
4 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
It had been awhile since I watched 'Brothers & Sisters,' when I saw this episode. I looked forward to the show all the time during the first two seasons, caught only a few episodes during the third season, and stayed away from season 4 until this one. The show seemed to be missing the old magic. Sally Field was as good as ever...but a few of the actors were like dead weight. Calista Flockhart's talent was squandered in this episode. Holly's subplot of losing a new job to her daughter was silly and done in a matter of minutes. If this was this their idea of writing for Patricia Wettig, why bother?

The scenes with Paige recording the family on camera seemed contrived and insincere. At least Ron Rifkin tried, but the others were going through the motions, b.s.-ing their way through it. The only scenes I really liked were the ones when Nora met the original designer of Ojai and when she and Sarah found a set of blueprints on a house that William was going to build. Scotty singing at the end was a nice touch but the rest of the episode left much to be desired and was basically filler, to get to the season finale (which aired the following week).
