I don't agree with you critics....

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes it is very hard to understand on what basis critics rate movies.Their reviews should always consider the average movie going audience, otherwise there will be more instances where critics and audiences don't agree. Phantom is Kabir Khan's second movie of the year, the first one being the unanimously loved Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a huge blockbuster. However, this one has really polarized the viewers. Some love it, others hate it. Phantom is on lines with films like D-Day,Madras Cafe and the recent Baby. The film is certainly not as good as Baby, but it is still a well made and watchable thriller.Saif Ali Khan plays the main protagonist Daniyal Khan, and it is definitely one of his more watchable and mature performances in recent years. Katrina Kaif does well too. The film no doubt is flawed, but it proceeds with such breakneck pace, you forget to notice everything. The first half sets the platform besides containing a brilliant action sequence in War torn Syria. Once the action shifts to Pakistan in the second half, the film takes off and never goes down. The film contains a number of nail biting scenes, and it is intense and gripping.Aseem Mishra does well on cinematography again after Bajrangi Bhaijaan.Pritam's Afghan Jalebi and Saawre lingers long. Special mention for Julius Packiam's Background score, it lights up many a scene. Overall, I recommend Phantom, though it is flawed, it has enough thrills to keep movie goers entertained, especially someone who is a fan of movies like Argo, zero dark thirty, mission impossible and Bourne. My rating: 6.5/10
