3/10
Faraar is utter trash, avoid at all costs

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes a movie can be so traumatic that one thinks twice before watching a film with a similar actor, director etc in the future.I guess I might have learned my lesson, before analyzing Faraar I'll just state that the movie was utter trash, and horrible. See with Baljit Singh Deo in all his films whether it was the recently released HNYR or Mirzia he just cares about making his films look stylish, he wants them to look like a bi product of Hollywood standards, and he succeeds to some level with this film too, but like his previous films Faraar also has no substance. Faraar is his worst film, the story is completely illogical, the film is slow, and its so boring that HNYR looked like a classic infront of Faraar.

I applauded Balajit Singh Deo for his last film HNYR because the Punjabi industry where churning out comedy after comedy, and he tried something different, even though that film was far from being good. But this film will be a set back for a emerging Punjabi industry, because Faraar will be a huge flop and entail huge loses for the industry.

Story wise the film is about a boy named Ekam who is heading to LA from Punjab on a student visa, on the plane he falls in love with a girl. After landing at LAX Ekam is arrested and then he finds out that his face resembles a gangster named Shinda. Shinda who has killed 2 cops and 3 other people, was presumed dead in a house bombing. The police believe he is Shinda. Then the girl on the plane Jasmine after just meeting him once, is fully convinced of his innocence and brings a lawyer from LA who is Indian, and goes out of his way to help Indians. The rest of story is about who Ekam proving if he is Shinda or not, and we go into Shinda's past a find out about his cousin brother Sunny, girlfriend Nicky and the films villain Captain etc.

Acting wise after a long time Gippy Grewal acts decent and works on his body but its of no use in this film. Other than him the Villain Jaggi Singh is good.

A film like Faraar was so flawed on the script level the film should have never been made, the story has so many loopholes, its so illogical that Al Queda could use this movie as torture. The only decent thing about the film is that its nicely shot, it has Hollywood level production values, and the action was good. But those things only look good if the film has some substance.

Overall avoid this film at all costs, its horrible, Its the worst film I have probably seen this year. Baljit Singh Deo please retire.Yes I am tired of Punjabi comedies but please don't give me a crap wannabe Hollywood film Pollywood. I am still going to be nice and give the film 1.5/5* or 3/10
