Caught this whilst in the perfect mood. *spoilers?*

Warning: Spoilers
I have a wretched headache, a crying baby and a hyperactive dog, and I put this on just for background noise. I ended up actually watching it, and really enjoying it. Full disclosure: I haven't read the book before, so went into this completely blind.

Sure, it's probably not groundbreaking, and certainly is quite family- friendly-lets-all-get-on-themed, but I was sat there giggling away, and sometimes cringing with my hands over my eyes. Don't go into this expecting anything mind-blowing, but that doesn't mean it isn't a fun movie. Particular mention to when Steve Carell is on fire, and when the Kerris Dorsey makes her appearance as Peter Pan.

I tend to enjoy a lot of Steve Carell films, because I think he perfectly captures the slightly awkward dude humour, and he was perfectly cast. I probably would have cast a different Alexander? But it's not anything major.

Overall, I think it is a solid and enjoyable movie, and I will probably watch it again when I need cheering up on a miserable day.

7/10.
