When the trailer was released there was a barrage of comparisons, likening it to Fast and the Furious films. And with the fast dream-like cars and cheesy actors, it is easy to see why. One thing that separates the two is Need for Speed's riveting race scenes. The roar of the engines and the untouched purity to the cars ability. There is no CGI, no special effects, just beautifully crafted cars being pushed to their limit and it is very entertaining to watch.
The story isn't exactly captivating, but that isn't the selling point of the film. It is the aforementioned that it is.
The acting is very cheesy, but it was to be expected. I wasn't that big of a fan of Aaron Paul, even in Breaking Bad, but he plays his part well i suppose. A really good action packed racing film.
