Finally this year I got to watch this simple, but well made movie. I've been waiting years to see it. Purchased the book years ago and now I have recorded it to share with my grandchildren. This movie is the type you can watch over and over because it has so much meaning in it. Sally Field did an excellent job directing. Thank you for making a movie like this. The story is different then so many new ones that are being made. It has depth to it that is hard to find these days. It has long lasting quality to it. Julie Harris is wonderful and brings life to the story. Andrew McCarthy's character learns how to slow down and see there's so much more to life and learns to appreciate what's going on around him.
