Frogs and Rehydration.....
14 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Seth Rogen is trying to sell an organic cleaning product to so many companies, but he gets the door slammed on his face every time.

He's about to set off on a big road trip, but first, he visits Barbara Streisand, who happens to be his mother. After feeling guilty for not wanting to watch old home movies, he invites her on the road trip.

But he soon realises it could have been a big mistake, as she starts to interfere with his life, and she also drops a bomb on him of where his name originated from.

If you can forgive the awful marketing ploy it had here in the UK, (treat your mother this Mother's Day, with this movie), you will forgive the films shortcomings.

Rogen, in my opinion has never been better as Andy, and that's because he's restrained, not the annoying douche he was in several 'comedies' but here, he's really likable, and maybe he's taking a step back for Strieisand.

Although it seems that she has watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding for inspiration, she's really good too, and the pair have great chemistry together.

Narratively speaking, the clichés are ten a penny, and you can see the plot points coming a mile off, but these road trip type movies are never really here or there, so you can forgive its shortcomings.

Every stop they make, something zany happens, like eating a big steak, getting into a fight, or stopping of at a strip club, something that has been seen before.

So its not original by any means, but its harmless, and a nice film to watch, thanks to the two leads, and a few funny moments.

The ending is a little too sugary sweet for me, but hey, the rest of the film makes up for it.

Worth seeing..
