STORY There's many things in this movie that would have worked perfectly if it got more time, like the explanation of where twilight really. Just think, if one of her friends have thought "no, i just can't accept this" and the group got broken by the truth and then they understand the magic of friendship in other way, not just in a random hug. That would have been fantastic. But there are too many limits in a one-hour movie.
SONGS I don't know why everyone says ALL the songs are awful. Actually, there's one that (for me) it's perfect: "Get up, get down". It looks planed in the story and helps to tell it. It's catchy and got the best animation (because the rest of the movie it's too mechanical). Just imagine if that happens in your school, God, that should be epic. The other songs sound too slow and simple for MLP:FIM style.
OPINION This movie isn't good enough. It tries to be enjoyable but it's just entertained in the minimum sense. And i strongly feel it was made as a fan-service TV-special and that's pretty bad for a theater movie. It's like Iron Man 3 as a direct-to-DVD and Rise of Technovore as the theater movie. It could be the greatest in another field.
