The Rock did quite a few movies that can be categorized as family entertainment prior to this. "Tooth Fairy" being one of the most quoted when someone is trying to make fun of him. If you see him in this, you might think twice before you do that of course. This is a take no prisoner rampage he is on, that is predictable of course, but is still very satisfying for his fans.
While this is true and the supporting cast does a good job, the ending almost completely fails the movie. Especially if you watch the alternate take, that while seems a bit over the top, should've been the note it should have ended on. But test screenings made the studio make the director go out and re-shoot it and we got a watered down version of something that could've really been amazing
