Doesn't measure up to Chori Chori
28 November 2010
This movie is a poor adaptation of the 1956 Raj-Nargis "Chori Chori" which itself was adapted from the 1934 Clark Gable-Claudette Colbert film "It Happened One Night" directed by Frank Capra. Chori Chori beats DHKMN hands down in all categories: direction, acting, charm, chemistry and songs. There is not one song that comes close to being as memorable as any one of "Panchi banoon", "Aaja Sanam", "Rasik Balma", "Jahan Main Jaati Hoon", "Manbhavan ke ghar jaaye gori". There is absolutely no chemistry between Pooja and Aamir (I like them individually); Raj and Nargis were like Gregory Peck & Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Chori Chori was a sweet romance with a charming ending. DHKMN deteriorates into a typical 80s zeitgeist with moronic fights and idiotic comedy.
