Pleasantly surprised!
7 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I don't qualify as a horror fan and randomly watched this movie because my friend chose it. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. While it fulfills what audience would expect from the genre (serial killer, gruesome and very creative details of killing, some nudity, pretty teenage girls, etc ), it managed to engage my attention throughout the movie. it def. kept me guessing the whole way (and because I had to cover my eyes for some parts, I didn't get all the answers- won't go into details to avoid spoilers...)

Performance-wise, I noticed several very familiar faces altho i couldn't tell their names. i googled them after watching the movie. One of the leads Cody Kasch was Meridith's son from DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and he gave an incredible performance in this movie! Brad Dourif (most ppl would remember him as Grima Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings) plays a rather creepy teacher and def. made a very strong impression. The girls are great too. Nikki Reed fans should be happy to see her having so much screen time.

Very realistic concerns about internet safety and privacy is addressed in the movie. After this I am SERIOUSLY considering deleting my facebook page permanently and stop blogging. (I wonder if watching SOCIAL NETWORK will counter this decision) Will def. be very careful who I give out my phone # and name card to for sure... I can imagine this movie might be very chilling for the parents of teens.

Overall it was a pretty intense 90 min in the theater. I guess it'd be more enjoyable for horror fans but overall it was worth the $$ for me. :)
